High School Announcements:

Congratulations to Ashlyn Ellis, the Mt. Zion High School April Senior of the Month. 

 

Ashlyn’s activities during High School include: Cheerleading, Student Council, SADD, Key Club, Medics, FBLA

 

Ashlyn’s Honors during High School include: Sum Cum Laude and National Honor Society

 

After graduation, Ashlyn plans on attending St. Louis University to study Nursing.

 

Ashlyn is the child of Chris and Kelli Ellis.

ASPIRE will be selling candles in the front hallway every morning during the week of April 21st-25th. Candles will be available to smell if you want to try out a scent. They are $10.00 per candle if you are interested in purchasing one.  

The Mt. Zion Art Show is Friday, May 2nd from 5:30-7 in the lobby of the field house. The show features artwork from art students in grades 4-12, light refreshments will be served, and you can vote for People's Choice by 6:15. Ribbons for first, second, third, Best of Show, and honorable mention will be awarded by judge Jacob Manning.

Any student interested in joining the a cappella quartets and ensembles for the 2025-2026 school year:

There will be a brief informational meeting during activity period on Wednesday, April 30 at 2:15 in the HS auditorium.  Auditions for next year’s groups will be held on Tuesday May 13th after school in the auditorium.  See Mr. Hansen for more information.

Attention students!

If you are interested in running for Student Council, you can pick up a ballot in the main office or in Mrs. Clifton's room 108.  Completed ballots are due no later than 3 pm Wednesday, April 30th.  All ballots must be turned into Mrs. Clifton directly.

Be Brave Week is in honor of Charlie Spurlock and in memory of Jack Brinkoetter.

 

Counselor Announcements:

Richland will be here Wednesday, April 23rd to complete registration for fall classes. If you plan on taking Richland dual credit courses and did not receive an email from Mrs. Oliver, please reach out to the Guidance Office. 

 

Scholarships:

Seniors - if you are pursuing a career in education information has now been shared with you about the Mary Rohrscheib Teaching Scholarship. Details are in your student email. The deadline to apply is June 13th. 4/25

Brooklyn Kondritz- 400m and pole vault
