High School Announcements:
Congratulations to the Mt. Zion High School January Senior of the Month Naomi Schmahl.
- Naomi's activities during High School include: National Honor Society, Key Club Senior Representative. SADD Student Board, Student Council, FBLA, FCA, Spanish Club, International Club, Varsity Girls Basketball Captain, Cheerleading, Young Leaders in Action Outreach Chair, Medics.
- Naomi's honors during High School include: National Honor Society, Summa Cum Laude, Outstanding Academic Achievement, Phi Theta Kappa at Richland Community College, Associates degree earned at the end of May, Illinois State Scholars.
- Naomi will be attending Arizona State University on a full-tuition academic scholarship majoring in Business Law.
- Naomi is the daughter of Amy and John Schmahl

Do you enjoy organizing? Is your study hall not doing it for you? If you want to join the art room for an hour and help take care of it, Mrs. Grider is seeking a student to be an art aide this semester. You must have availability to aide during hours 1-4. Counselor Announcements:
Students, on Friday, February 21st, from 3:00-6:00 PM, the Decatur Park District will be hosting a Hiring Fair at the Decatur Indoor Sports Center for various part-time and seasonal positions available this spring and summer. For most positions, you do have to be at least 16 years old. During this fair, positions may even be offered on the spot!! Check your email for a list of available positions and who you can contact with questions.1/24

Juniors, do any of you have an interest in the welding and manufacturing trades? What about the transportation and mechanical trades? Caterpillar and ADM will be visiting the high school to discuss their 12 month pathways programs which offer hourly wages up to $19 per hour. Both opportunities prepare students for long-term careers at CAT or ADM beyond high school. CAT will be here on Thursday, January 30th and ADM will be here on Wednesday, February 5th to discuss the opportunities. If interested, make sure you email Mrs. McCarty or sign up outside of the Guidance Office. 1/24

If you are interested in playing softball please sign up before Feb 10. Be sure to have a physical and all paperwork in before the 1st practice on March 3rd.
